Sick pay and benefit — who, when, how much

Employer sick pay vs ZUS sickness benefit — periods, base, e-ZLA documentation.

Employee illness means employer duties: sick pay for first days, then ZUS benefit. All based on e-ZLA.

Employer sick pay

Employer pays sick pay for first 33 days of illness per calendar year (or 14 days for those 50+). Rate: 80% (100% during pregnancy, work accident, donor care).

ZUS benefit

From day 34 (or 15 after 50) ZUS pays — no contributions. Rate: 80% (100% hospitalisation) of last 12 months base.

e-ZLA and duties

Doctor issues e-ZLA electronically — employer and ZUS get it automatically. Employee has 7 days to inform employer. Employer settles in payroll with proper DRA codes.

Employee illness is common HR error. Danexis runs sick pay correctly.
